Overall, it was a good experience. The service was great, and I really liked the view and ambience. The momo was the best, but the mutton curry wasn’t quite worth the money. More

Visited for food while drive through Canberra with friends on Sunday.
It was quiet but some tables still had dirty dishes for awhile.
We ordered few food and drinks. And got our food. Being chowmin and momo lover, chowmin was too oily as they took shower on oil. Mix chicken Momo tasted some what okay.
I’m not sure why I’m paying 10% surcharge with addition of tax. And extra charge for container as couldn’t like it anymore.
There was no any mention of 10% surcharge or extra charge for containers. Atleast we could understand the charges if informed early. It was quite shock why surprise charges are added with no information

This is a lakeside restaurant with beautiful views. I found it through Google. It's a Nepalese restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. I loved the way the dumplings were dipped in broth; the fish curry was delicious; and the various naan varieties were also delicious. More

I recently visited Lakeside Gurkhas in Canberra and unfortunately my experience wasn’t the best. I ordered the chicken chowmein, aloo nimki, and jhol momo, but the dishes didn’t taste as fresh or enjoyable as I had hoped.
The chicken chowmein lacked flavour, the aloo nimki was a bit soggy instead of crispy, and the jhol momo had a taste that seemed slightly off. I usually enjoy Nepali food and was really looking forward to the meal, so it was disappointing this time.
*Didn’t click the picture of jhol momo.
I hope this was just an off day.

We arrived late in Canberra, and really appreciate that the team still catered for us. The food was overall excellent — we tried Chicken Momo, Chicken Jhol Momo, Naan, Butter Chicken, and Methi Paneer. Everything tasted great, especially the momos and paneer dishes.
However, the Naan was the weakest point — it seemed premade, very thick, and not soft as expected. Please consider improving this. The Butter Chicken was slightly tangy for our taste, but still enjoyable.
Prices are on the higher side, which is understandable given the prime location. Overall, a good dining experience with just a few things to fine-tune.

Went to have Thakali set. Unfortunately, thakali set are available until 4pm only. Dahi puri was absolutely delicious. Momo Chutney was amazing. Momo was fresh and juicy. However, biryani was overcooked and keema noodles lacked flavor and freshness. The service was quick. We had a great experience here at Lakeside Gurkha .

This nepali cuisine restaurant are very crowded in saturday evening , dueto its unique taste of south asian flavours and its cool location. Panipuri are served in such a big portion of potatoe mixed with spice and indian shallots , with 15 crispy flour balls . My main course is Bhutan set , including deep fried rice mixed with peas and nuts. Mutton vindaloo which is mutton with bones in curry , to eat with roti or naan is very delicious. Beef tikka is too dry but its spicy taste is good to try . There are also standard menu for order , such as Fish and chips
